Introduction

The leading European manufacturer of CCD and laser scanners, Datalogic, steadily invests into the future standard 2D technology. Another model in their successful range of scanners is the Lynx D432 that comes in two versions for either standard or high-resolution bar codes. All scanners of the Lynx family perform omni-directional scans of commercial 1D and 2D bar codes, sequence codes and postcodes, while also improving efficiency and productivity for all applications.

The scanner makes an image of the complete bar code and decodes it – scanner alignment is therefore not necessary. Additionally, the Lynx allows image-based applications, such as signature and OCR scanning. The captured image is processed immediately or is transferred to the host in various formats (.bmp, .jpg, .tif). Newest functions realise a complete image management using image capture with up to four presets:

Zoom (20 to 200%), contrast, brightness (±100%) and framing. A double-click trigger for aiming and scanning makes scanning even easier. The five-point-targeting marks the scan area with red points in every corner and in the centre - makes data collection easy and time-safing.

For increased working range and additional flexibility, the Lynx is also available in both versions with integrated Bluetooth interface. Wired scanners and Bluetooth docking stations feature a multi-standard interface that offers host connection over USB, RS232 or keyboard wedge.

Also included in the Lynx package: the configuration software »Visual Step« for easy configuration of all parametres in order to adapt to existing applications or get a quick view on loaded images.
