Introduction

The wired 4600g hand scanner is an especially robust area imager suitable for professional applications in retail, but also in offices or for light manufacturing. Its CMOS optic immediately scans the bar code at any orientation, regardless if 1D or 2D. In addition, the camera optics can record documents as photos (e.g. postmarks, checks, vouchers, etc.) and analyse OCR signatures so that it scans optical and electronic data in one sweep.

The imager comes with different optics for various reader ranges: no matter if using Standard Range (up to 32 cm) or Smart Focus (up to 17 cm), fast and error-free scanning of information is always guaranteed. With the high-density version you can respond to customer demands for scanning small codes. By using its patented Adaptus Imaging Technology the scanner recognises all bar codes in milliseconds. The omnidirectional scanning makes positioning the object unnecessary and saves the user precious time. Through improved illumination functions the scanner also reads from reflective or shiny objects without any difficulties.

With the 4820 version you get the same scanner as a cordless model. A Bluetooth 1.2 connection to the corresponding cradle offers the user an operating range of up to ten metres. Even goods outside of range are read through the integrated memory function, which then transmits the data automatically as soon as the device re-enters the cradle’s area.

Like all Honeywell scanners, both the 4600g and 4820 impress through their unique durability, and the exceptional quality is demonstrated through the five-year manufacturer’s guarantee. The scanner is protected from penetrating impurities or dripping water through a certification according to the IP41 industry standard. The multi-interface allows the scanner or cradle to be attached alternatively to the USB, keyboard, or RS232 connection of the PC.

The light weight and ergonomic pistol design even allow for several hours of tireless operation. You can also get the scanner with HD optics that has an easily disinfectable surface for specific applications in clinics, laboratories, or food production..
