Introduction

The mobile terminal of the Dolphin 9900 series excels in industrial applications through its almost unrivalled functionality, speed and performance. It is exactly tailored to meet the requirements of large companies and was developed with the aim of being able to quickly increase customer productivity. With the largest variety in equipped versions, the 9900 series provides you perfectly tailored terminals to meet all requirements in industry and production. The wide array of modules for communication and data processing make the elegant systems the ideal device for reliable mobile use in transportation, logistics and parcel delivery. The durable housing cover made of stable magnesium alloy is almost indestructible and complements the robust construction (IP64) of the Dolphin.

For maximum speed, efficiency and versatility, the Dolphin 9900 series is standardly equipped with a high-performance Intel XScale processor of 624MHz. In addition, as standard version a full 256MB RAM and 1GB Flash memory are available. For the manual exchange of data and memory expansion of the system and archiving, an SD card slot for a maximum 4GB is included. The user interface of the Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system gives you a wide flexibility for programming, but with the 9900 you also seamlessly introduce different applications, such as tailored Remote Device Management applications or terminal emulations. It has a 2D imager with optional standard range or smart focus optics, with which your customers are able to scan all linear and 2D bar codes, while also digitalising images such as signatures or the like. The integrated Adaptus Imaging Technology 5.0 improves not only scanning, but also provides decoding and information exchange to the host within milliseconds.

The combination of area imager with high-end scanning performance, the 8.9 cm (3.5'') TFT colour display with touch screen, as well as the ergonomic keypad with 35, 43 or 56 keys for easy handling guarantee your customers complete flexibility in their daily work environments. In addition to the RS232, USB, IrDA and Bluetooth 1.2 interfaces, the extensive options for wireless connections offer your customers professional mobility in daily activities and high security for data transfer. Along with the Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), you also get the Dolphin 9900 with an integrated GSM/GPRS module. With the appropriate version you can react flexibly to the existing infrastructures of your customers, guaranteeing wireless data and voice communication at any time. As ideal solution for parcel delivery and companies in logistics, the Dolphin also optionally comes with an integrated GPS antenna. This enables you to use it as a professional navigation system, saving your customers the costs of procuring additional devices.

For especially intensive applications you also get the Dolphin with pistol-grip (9950). Equipped for high volume scanning, it guarantees high ergonomic handling and hours-long use without causing fatigue. For applications in which bar codes must be read over long distances, the 9951 delivers you a version with integrated laser scanner, which reads information from a distance of over nine metres. Different scanning ranges are also available to you with the HP, LR and XLR versions. The patented Adaptus Imaging Technology 5.0 offers top-class data scanning and processing performance.

The high-performance system architecture is powered by a large-capacity lithium-ion battery (2500mAh), which is replaceable without interrupting operation. Through the patented Shift-PLUS Power Management the performance in cordless operation is improved, while guaranteeing high scanning volume as well as longer operation times than comparable devices of competitors. The Dolphin 9900 is also available with a special housing for safe disinfection in medical and pharmaceutical applications, as well as in laboratories and catering kitchens. The modern white colour of the user interface does not react to aggressive cleaning agents and meets all requirements from this area especially hygienically.
