Introduction

The new MS1633 Focus BT is the cordless version of the high performance omni-directional hand-held scanner MS1690 Focus. The very sturdy scanner uses CMOS technology to scan bar codes. This makes it much faster than normal handheld scanners. It is the perfect choice for applications that require highest performance, such as in industrial environments or at heavily used scan stations – now also wireless!

Honeywell’s new MS1633BT provides perfect power for scanning in professional applications, such as logistics and production - without having to be attached to a fixed work area through inflexible cables. The newest Bluetooth technology (1.2 Standard) and the included Bluetooth dongle for your customer’s USB interface guarantee data transfer at up to 10 metres distance. If the user loses contact with the host, for example if he moves out of operating range, then hundreds of scanned data points will be saved by the integrated RangeGate technology, and automatically transmitted as soon as contact is re-established.

The high-resolution CMOS sensor guarantees rapid scanning of all common bar codes. In addition, the omnidirectional reader with high scan rates raises performance output enormously, as the entire bar code is scanned as one section for decoding and does not have to be oriented cumbersomely along a certain angle of the bar code. The FocusBT rapidly scans even poorly printed or dirty bar codes from a distance of up to 23 centimetres. With the CMOS sensor, the moving mirror optics that is usually used in laser scanners is omitted. The robust dust-resistant housing withstands even repeated drops from 1.5 metres onto concrete, making the scanner gun perfect for the most demanding application environments.

Extreme high performance is also achieved with the FocusBT through the integrated CodeGate function: scanned information is only transmitted when the user presses the CodeGate button, thereby confirming scanning of the correct bar code. This function is very useful whenever a user must ensure that only the correct bar code is to be transmitted.

Also included in the shipment are two lithium-ion batteries. A single battery charge can easily last up to 12 hours or 9,000 scans. A drained battery is quickly recharged on the included charging station, so that virtually endless use is guaranteed. As the MS1633BT is often used in tough environments, it is only available in black.
