Introduction

With the devices of the MT2000 series from Motorola, you get the ideal combination of mobile handheld terminals along with the professionalism and ergonomics of a pistol-grip bar code scanner – and all for the price of an industrial handheld scanner: the mobile computer is designed to improve productivity, efficiency and operation time in warehouses and production, while using the same device to perform data collection and take inventory in retail and trade. The high performance MT2000 series combines the ease of a bar code scanner and performance of a mobile data collection device with extensive Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

Different models are available with a laser scanner for 1D codes (scanning range of up to 127 cm) or with an imager for 1D, 2D bar codes (optionally HD), but also for scanning images, signatures and videos. In addition to an Intel XScale processor with 312MHz, the Windows CE5.0 OS and 64MB memory guarantee a wide range of applications and particular flexibility. The user enters additional data using the 21-button keypad and displays these on the 320x240 pixel LC screen.

The data is transferred either wirelessly via Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g) or via Bluetooth with a range of over 90 metres. In addition, optimal communication is provided via the terminal session. For wired connections, you revert back to a version with multi-interface USB/RS232. BT cradles are utilised directly via USB, serial or Ethernet interface – the charger and diverse accessories such as the Intellistand for free-handed scanning ensure the necessary flexibility
