Introduction
The memory bar code scanner Symbol P360 »Phaser« from Motorola is a robust high-performance device for outdoor, logistical and industrial applications. Besides traditional bar code scanning, it allows users to input additional data using its integrated 17-button keypad and view information on its 2x20 character LCD. Each scanner is equipped with either 4 or 8 MB internal memory. Formerly complicated scanning processes become easy and practical with this scanner. Of course, this also includes steps that usually would require input from a PC.
The P360 »Phaser« is quite robust and withstands multiple drops from 1.8 metres onto concrete without any harm. It is IP54-rated for resistance to water and dust as well as against damage. Its operating temperature lies between -20 and +40°C, which makes it suitable for freezer rooms as well as for logistics and high-temperature manufacturing conditio
This wired handheld scanner is equipped with an ergonomic forward scan pistol grip. It reads all commercial 1D bar codes from a distance of up to 40 cm depending on bar code size and type. For large scanning ranges, the available Advanced Long Range version (ALR) offers bar code scanning with up to 9 metres read distance.
System integrators will benefit from the scanners easy integration and its highly programmable architecture, which offers an expandable functionality that is rarely seen with conventional bar code scanners. You and your customer’s creativity will never be limited again in terms of design and optimisation. Quick integration is supported by the 123Scan installation programme. This free software tool provides easy configuration for data transfer as well as code activation and deactivation. It also allows users to create ADF rules that process the bar codes before sending them to the host. Access to extra functions (e.g. ODBC and automation of repetitive processes) is available with the optional software package MCL Designer.
