Introduction
Besides traditional bar code scanning, the wireless Phaser P370 from Symbol allows users to input additional data using the integrated 17-button keypad and display information on its 2x20 character LCD. The scanner is a very robust high-performance device that provides fast and simple data collection in the entire company. Typical applications for keypad and display are goods reception or shipping, access control, visitor registration at events, or simple POS and stocktaking applications.
Previously complicated scanning processes become easy and practical with this scanner. Of course, this also includes processes that usually would require input from a PC. With the P370, users do not need to put the scanner down anymore. The integrated keypad allows direct input and the scanner display makes software feedback possible.
The Phaser P370 transmits at 2.4 GHz, which allows a range of up to 30 metres from the cradle – considerably more than comparable scanners in its class. The cradle is equipped with a programmable multi-interface that is connected, depending on the interface cable, to different PC systems and industrial equipment, making integration into existing infrastructures very easy.
The scanner is very robust and withstands drops from 1.8 metres onto concrete without any damage. It is IP54-rated for its resistance against water and dust, as well as against breaking. Its operating temperature lies between -20 and +40°C, which makes it suitable for freezer rooms as well as for high-temperature manufacturing conditions. This wireless handheld scanner is equipped with an ergonomic forward scan pistol grip. It reads all commercial 1D bar codes from a distance of up to 40 cm depending on bar code size and type. For large scanning ranges, the available Advanced Longrange version (ALR) offers bar code scanning with up to 9 metres read distance.
